Social Media: Ram ya Raavan

Well, you know I am damn excited to share my thoughts upon these 2 worded sentence….. Yes! You heard it right, it is an entire sentence in itself…..Well, if I correct myself it is entirely an essay in itself. Many a times I get Goosebumps on my body when I think about the depth of this platform. But sadly I lose those Goosebumps when I feel and see how many of us are using it i.e. using it just to pass time, waste time, spending time on that just like as if someone forgot to turn off the tap after satisfying the thirst. Seriously, not becoming aware of, we simply tends to give the 1/5th or 1/8th (whatever number you spend on it)…of our life to social media.

Question arises, why this tends to happen….?

Let’s take an example….Harish discovered something interesting like reels on IG and for him it was like the shirt tailored for him only. He got to know that where to give my excess time left after all of the chaos. And he started mesmerizing others too with that… Now owing to human mind tendency, Harish’s friend Satish also tried exploring the boundaries of other country of his world. He launched his steps like an elon musk’s rocket which landed on the doorstep of his home and fuelled himself with the download button of Instagram. Now he thought that my rush which was little risky now worth it… Satish was now trying to find other things as well which attracted him like a south pole of magnet that attracts the north pole. He fuelled up himself in noon 12 and still running without fail till 12 of night.

Here comes a catch…..the person who used to come at 12, get fresh and all till 1, tuition at 2, outdoor funs at 6 and homework at 9 of night…. today he spent his entire day on phone doing nothing of the above.

Any question arose in your mind?

From where the hell he got phone for entire day? Well, for that corona has simplified some sort of things for children like Satish. He came home like rocket, claimed to have lot of important stuff to do which he got from school, something like project which will absolutely demand the access to internet and phone…. that innocent mom happily handed over her phone to him. Now the fish stick with the tasty piece stuck in it has been dipped in water to catch the fish….the wait is just of the fish like Satish to get trapped…

Excited to listen further…! Here one has to fight with his own conscience to stop himself from being trapped in that fish stick. Conscience is the guy who is always with us guiding us towards the wellbeing of us, but don’t know why we ignore that. We always know that the time which we are spending on mobile using Instagram or lot of other social media sites will have the negative impact on our life and mind, but still we procrastinate and make ourself relax, thinking that it’s not a big deal.

Hey you, yaah I am talking to you… don’t do this dude, life is limited, time is limited, the mind that you have is having enormous capacity of achieving excellence and doing something productive… Well, if you are among one who just passes time on social media, than you need to pay little attention on your attitude. But if you are one who is using phone and internet to upskill yourself or doing some skill enhancement course than it’s not that big to worry about.

Do you know about barrier we usually see on road for train passing. The people roaming all around there have to stop until that train passes by. Samely when thoughts and deeds which are not useful to us or which hinders our train like life (which is always on time and stops or waits for no one), at that time we have to open the barriers in our mind by our own will to stop any useless  things enter in that passage and let that train of our mind and productivity pass by smoothly.

But next question arises, even I know it is wrong, but how to stop that? Well, Corona was there to get you the phone from your home, I am here for you to keep you away from your phone.

For that…

1) Identity trigger points which forces you to trigger your phone usage e.g., any notification….switch it off, any notification badges….turn it off.

2) Identity apps which consumes your most of time, instantly delete it or make it hard to access, remove it from your home screen or put complex password to open that or have password fitted by your family members.

3) Identity time when you tend to use your phone more often. E.g. if you use your phone at night, book yourself a slot to complete your pending work at that time. If you use your phone more at morning, grab the habit of going out of house and have a little walk like task. If you use your phone more in noon, indulge yourself in a activity like dance class, music class, TV show, swimming class, etc.

4) Any time passing content in gallery, just please delete it now. Any useful but useless now type things, give them place in cloud storage that we have due to Google’s grace like Google drive, google photos….. otherwise you will end up looking at your beautiful selfies, some good memories clicked in phone, your family function pics, birthday pics etc. Which will kill your time. See the,but not every now and then.

Do you know, those creators earn 6 figure income i.e 10L, 20L….etc. or even more every month from those activities, which is might be more than your family’s annual income. Sorry, If I am little harsh in my words…….but that’s reality. Now you ask yourself a question how much do you earn monthly. If your answer is less than 6 figure income, than please stop using all those social media sites today.

Have you observed what is really happening with you when you use social media? You are becoming subject of them. They are consuming you, your life, your time and that too without asking you. Someone has entered in your life and that too without your permission…..what the hell is this. Do you want that somebody else directs you or consume you. If you have ultimate craze for social media, then choose to create some content, not only reels I am saying, but try to create something on social sites , blogging, content writing, which can increase the figure of your income, give you satisfaction of using social media and social sites and also increase the productivity of the day and will add little value to your 1 gb and your train will cross the barrier easily without any unwanted human interruptions.

Last main thing which attracts us, is the life of some influencers, we sometime make them our idol. Well, there is nothing wrong in that to be fan of someone. But due to that if you are not doing anything, just seeing their pics, vids, stories and all then it’s a matter to worry about. Ok, tell me that, their parents’ must had seen dreams for their children, like parents of Amitabh, akshay, kiara, alia etc. Which they have achieved and proved themselves due to which today you are following them. Do you think that dreams of your parents are of any less grade than that, don’t your parents wanna see you as celebrity, don’t your parents wanna see, people showering their love upon you. So, what is better, enjoying someone’s else parents pray which your celebrities have fulfilled by their hardwork……..or……… working for the dreams of your parents , which they have seen for you or which you have seen for them.

Aage aapki marzi, aapki life, aapke sapne, aapke maa-baap ki aankho me vo pal pal ubharte hue sapne, Jo tumhe dekhkar or mazboot ban jate hain. Vo zimmedaariyan jo aapka intzaar karti hain, vo raatein, jo sapne dekhte dekhte guzaari thin, ek sukoon ki neend ka intzaar karti hain…..kuch banne ka sapna
